Types of Dental Sedation We Offer
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. It produces a pleasant, relaxed feeling, yet you remain fully conscious and able to respond to our questions and instructions.
The effects wear off within minutes after we remove the mask, so you can drive yourself home and quickly return to your usual activities. Nitrous oxide is ideal for those with mild to moderate anxiety or those undergoing shorter procedures.
IV Sedation
Intravenous sedation delivers medication directly into your bloodstream, producing a deep state of relaxation. You may drift into a light sleep and have little to no memory of the procedure. However, you will remain responsive and can breathe on your own.
Dr. Joo is trained and licensed to administer IV sedation safely in our office. Throughout the procedure, we monitor your vital signs, ensuring your complete safety. IV sedation is ideal if you have severe anxiety, need extensive dental work, or simply prefer to be deeply relaxed during treatment.
Do you avoid scheduling appointments due to dental anxiety? Many of our patients think, “It’s just me,” but rest assured, it’s not. Dental anxiety is real and affects millions of people.
